After I check my Phone I realized the race was just down the street at the Civic.

Got there with 5 minutes to spare. We stared the race (only 39 people) going downhill and it was a good warm-up and then it hit me. Is this a 5 k or 5 miles. Well... I'll ask the next one that gets by me. Excuse me... is this?..... Hello... Ms... Hello, aaaand she's gone. Yep that was UltraBrit

She kicked my a$$ AGAIN! but that's OK I'll get her next time. ( I Think I said that once before).

Anyway... it was a 5K. Good race, good course and very organized. I got there a little late so I only had time to sign up and get my bike ready, was not sure what to do or what shorts and shirts to use (running or bike) I did noticed almost every one were wearing bike shorts so I did a fast change right on the parking lot.The first 2.5 mile was a nice warm up just around Greenwich Point Park and then on to the bike for 10 miles. I was fine until mile 7 but some where around Old Greenwich there was this 1/2 mile hill that almost kill me, took every little bit off me not to walk that hill, once I was over the hill I noticed my water bottle was gone and I was filling a little dizzy so I slowed down and finish it. Back to another 2.5 mile run which I was able to pass a lot people and finish at 1:12Was hard and painful but also a lot of fun. I'll do it again! Since this race was at 7:00 am and I was done by 8:30 I decided to run Law Day Race (Darien) was schedule at 10:00 am . After the race I meet Roy, Rob and the winner of the race Morgan. I had a long talk with Roy about running and other things, his camera went dead so We took some pictures with my phone. Was nice talking to him.And back home for some diapers changing and bottles. :)

NYRR Central Park Run as One

Was a great turn out more than 11.000 people. I caught up and stayed with Her for the rest of the race to a very impressed finish time of 32:20. She was proud and happy I'm glad I helped.
Finally meet after the race Frank and Ammy ( She just completed the Umstead 100 miler a week ago AMAZING!) . Very nice people I was very happy to meet them.
After I got home I was thinking of doing a 7 mile run but between Eggs hunting, diapers changes and bottles. I'll better do the run on Sunday Morning . Sunday I decided to do a long run, 10 miles through back country Wilton and Norwalk, not only was hilly but the wind was just a killer (Wind Speed) 21.9 The first 4 miles were just hills and wind, after that the rest of the run was nice and easy with a 1.5 mile trail run included. (Cranberry Park). and back home for a 10 miler at 8.56 pace. GARMIN . Sat night I was thinking and doing it.( My calf is much better but still not 100%) I'm glad I did. Woke up 5:45 and I drove to NY City Central Park. But trying to park a Double cap Toyota Tacoma in the city is just a pain. Parking garage charge $40.00 for 2 hrs of parking.( Isn't just a Rip Off?) It was 7:15 and still no parking space around. I Finally parked on 3Th ave and 76 st. From there ran back to pick up my number, quick stop at restroom and to the Start with 2 minutes to spare.
Lots of vendors, loud music and people every where.
There is not much to say about my race, 8:07 pace/mile for a 32:28 Finish Time, a lot of huffing and puffing but it was all good . "Turtleback Hill"
And then was UltraBrit breathing all over my neck, completely in control of the race and just waiting for the right moment to make the pass, and she did at mile four. After that I did my best to stay with her but she was to quick for me. But I did run the last mile at 7:37. I'll get Her next time... (maybe):)
Over all it was a great race.

I'm back!!!

I'm back running again, little sore and way out of shape but Man I'm happy.
My first run was Sunday 8th (LINK) and is getting better day by day.
Got Email from Jim Yesterday about Spring Equinox this Sunday in New Cannan.
I was thinking of doing it... After a month of pain in my right lower calf I decided to go to see my Sport Doctor in Cos Cob.
He said is not Your Aquiles Tendon or a calf pull at all is something else. It’s a micro tear deep in the muscle, a spasm forms around the torn muscle but the process takes longer than you usually think several weeks at least. When you start back too soon, you’re simply re-injuring yourself.
Stay off it for as long as it takes to heal completely. I recommend at least three more weeks before any run.
Just Frustrated.... Why do I miss running so much?
I played Pro Soccer for 10 Years. I was a bit chilly standing around at the start but it otherwise was the kind of weather I often run well in (whether I like that cold or not). I felt really good for the whole race aside from a little calf tightness that went away in the first mile. I broke 40 minutes for the first time, so that was way more than I could have asked for at this time of year. I probably could have gone faster today but i just dint wanna push it. (stress fracture) My Wife Paula was taking some pictures (She's seven month pregnant) I was so happy She came along.

Results

Garmin

10K Boston Build Up XXXI

My first race since October/08 (Injured stress fracture) I wanted to finish under 50 minutes and I did.
